Corona Virus and Our Course

LVGA treasurer Gary Johnson has graciously researched and put into action initial steps to help us be aware of our surroundings and to minimize risks in our neighborhood.  As we are all aware we have several seniors in our village.  Being cautious with the current pandemic is everyone’s responsibility.  Please see below and observe all precautions.

I will ask Brad, Community Supervisor, to make the following changes to the golf course to keep the Golf Community/Family/Residents safe

—–

Remove Sand Trap Rakes – The Crew will rake traps daily.  We ask players to smooth out their shot with their shoe.

Remove Ball Washers

Remove Sand Divot Shovels and not refill the boxes –  The crew will repair the divots from the day’s previous play

—–

Advice for our players – Do not touch or remove the flag – A plug at the bottom of the pin will allow the ball to drop 1” from the surface.  Rather than reaching into the hole, players can pick up with no/minimal contact.

To maintain the safety of our community and the LVGA, I think these steps are needed.  I researched the above from the USGA Guidelines.

We all want to play…but not infect self or others.

Regards, Gary
