It’s great seeing everyone out at these matches. If you haven’t made it, come on out. A good time is had by kids of all ages.
I apologize for not keeping up with this. I will try to do better going forward. I’ll recap all that I know here. I’m sorry if I got any facts wrong.
1) Wayne Brady and Johnny Weddle – Wayne ‘Wassup’ Brady was reluctant to play this year, probably due to the heat. But now he is eyeing the trophy after a big defeat of ‘Clean Cut’ Johnny Weddle. Wayne says he didn’t win, but Johnny lost. We all struggle in this tourney. Especially if it’s your first time. Don’t be discouraged, Johnny! And never cut your hair again.
2) Neil Coates and John Mitchell – I didn’t see this one but I heard it was a hard fought match. Neil ‘no doubt’ Coates defeated John ‘ABJ’ Mitchell.
3) Kelly Attaway and Steve Roland – I was informed this was the match of the season so far. The way I heard it, Kelly ‘Attagirl’ Attaway started with a big deficit then fought her way back to be down by just two with two to go. She won those two and forced extra holes.
After tying on the first extra hole, Steve ‘point at the fence’ Roland had an uncharacteristic tee shot almost hitting it to the pond on #7. This gave Kelly an open door to close it down. I am sorry I missed this one.
4) Dave Hannah and Steve Brenneman – Dave ‘damn its hot’ Hannah struggled in this one and Steve ‘broken springs’ Brenneman took care of business.
5) Jack Willams and Sloan Newman – A great match between two titans. Jumpin’ Jack Williams jumped out to a good lead early but could not hold off Slammin’ Sloan Newman who won it on #18.
6) Jill Newman – Jill ‘the thrill’ Newman’s echoed her husband’s win with a match so fast nobody saw it.
